Maverick Poet Award Finalist: “What’s Good” by Jen Schneider

Jen Schneider is a community college educator who lives, works, and writes in small spaces in and around Philadelphia. She writes poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction, with an emphasis on hybrid forms. Her most recent collection, 14 (Plus) Reasons Why, published by free lines press, is now available. EVENINGS WALKS: A Collection of Recollections, published by Ethel, and On (Pantry) Stock & (Kitchen) Timers, published by Querencia Press, are forthcoming. Her work is compelled by a desire to intentionally engage with current events in ways neither encouraged nor necessarily permitted by popular media. Like all of her writing, “WHAT’S GOOD” was written with a goal of creating inclusive communities that inspire others to write in ways that experiment with ideas and promote resistance and associated social change.
